...in Reference

I haven't posted anything for the past few days. Not intentional...I had a few things to settle and I'm sorry. I feel obligated. So I'll try to make it up.

This post is in reference to the previous one below..."It's All About Choices".

A few friends have posted this caption in their Facebook status update "I am the Master of my fate....the Captain of my soul". Some people couldn't agree to it or perhaps they couldn't 'see' through it. But truely, we are the master of our fate. Whether we end up in good shape or bad...it all depends on the course of actions that we take. We just couldn't leave it to 'fate' and then when things didn't turn out as we expected, we say "It's already fated". Whatever path we choose, two things would happen - whether we got what we wanted OR we failed.

God has given us THE guide in the form of the Holy Book (Al-Quran), the Hadiths, Sunnah, histories of the Prophets and stories of the Sahabats. Most importantly, we were given 'aqli (aqal) / mind to think what is wrong and what is right. So why choose the wrong path, when you already have those guides?

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful:
"If only they stood fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the Revelation that was sent to them from their Lord, they would have enjoyed happiness from every side. There is among them a party on the right course; but many of them follow a course that is evil". - Al-Ma'idah: 66.

Sometimes, we put the blame on others especially on our parents; our bosses, colleagues, subordinates, friends...and not surprisingly, some people put the blame of their spouses. Calling them bad names because their spouses brought bad vibes into their lives or in Malay word is termed as 'pembawa sial'. Sometimes the children would be called as such, too. Just because things didn't turn out as good as they had expected. Subhanallah! Do they know not that whatever happened to them have already been preordained...written in their book of life even before their souls were blown into the womb of their mothers? And do they know not that when calamities befall on them it was a test from God and that they should have been patient and learn from their mistakes? Because most of the time, these kind of people would tend to forget to be grateful and thankful IF it was otherwise...If good things happen, they would tend to say "Ah! This is all because of my effort"...and they would tend to forget to say thank you to God, let alone be grateful.

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful:
"No misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is recorded in a decree before We bring it into existence; that is truly easy for God. In order that ye may not despair over matters that pass you by, nor exult in favors bestowed upon you. For God loveth not any vainglorious boaster". - Al-Hadid : 22-23.

"When some trouble toucheth man, he crieth unto his Lord, turning to Him in repentance: but when He bestoweth a favour upon him as from Himself, (man) doth forget what he cried and prayed for before..." - Al-Zumar: 8.

So, use your mind to think what is best and take your own pick. But...don't put the blame on others. For one one finger is pointing at others, three other fingers are pointing back at yourself.
